FAMILIES THEY VISITED:
Lise Gregers Jensen and Jørgen Kaad (Birgitte Brandt’s brother) to see wine shop and straw bale house buildings.
Helga Hansen, Birgitte Brandt’s mother, in Tanslet near Sønderborg. The group participated in her 87 birthday party.
Grete and Aage Lorenzen at Solsortvej 4,Hjordkær, 6230 Rødekro for fund raising party to a Zimbabwean student.
LESSONS LEARNT:
Both parties (the Tanzanian team and Danish people) found out that there was a lot to learn from each other’s different culture and economical background e.g. on issues of respect and tolerance in the society especially in religion, ethnic groups, gender, etc.
On the other hand, the youths made a lot of friends from different parts of the world.
The youths with their teacher had an opportunity of learning by seeing a number of well planned environmental projects carried on in Southern Jutland in Denmark.
THANX SO MUCH TO ALL WHO INITIATED AND SUPPORTED THE TOUR FOR THESE NINE YOUTHS AND THE TWO TEACHERS FROM KILIMANJARO - TANZANIA.
